Hints and Tips for the Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom

Your own daughter’s or son’s wedding can prove to be one of the most stressful times in your life.

Whilst it’s a good excuse for dressing up, you’re probably only too aware that, after the bride, all eyes are likely to be on the mother of the bride / groom, so getting it right is so important.

The trick is to look elegant and slightly undertstated, rather than trendy, ensuring that your outfit doesn't clash either with the bride or whatever your counterpart (mother of the bride or mother of the groom) is wearing.

Select colours that suit your hair and skin tone and try not to be influenced by anyone else... it's important that you feel entirely comfortable with your final look.

Make sure you select a hat that complements your outfit and be sure to wear it on the crown rather than the back of your head.

Comfortable shoes are a must because, after all, it's likely to be a long day and the last thing you want to worry about is aching feet. Choose a handbag that complements your shoes but it's not imperative that you match all your accessories perfectly as this can appear too contrived.
